Wetin be my Rights... sef?
Issue : 002 April - June 2005
Hello again. It has been three months since the maiden edition of TAKAii and three months can feel like three weeks when you are faced with preparing a performance that will elicit a louder and longer applause than the last one. We got a lot of feedback from our readers, encouraging us and advising us on the issues that are important as well as what we could do to improve on the TAKAii experience.
The task of convincing people that although TAKAii is a Law magazine, its target audience stretches beyond the legal profession has been very challenging. Distribution remains the monkey on our back particularly in Lagos and we are still in the process of tailoring an effective distribution structure to suit our size. Having said that, many readers, including a seven year old boy who feels three months between each edition is too long for him to wait, did not need much convincing about what TAKAii has to offer to the public.
We remain undaunted by the challenges in publishing and the discouraging words from people who believe that no one but lawyers would be interested in reading about the Law.
We have but together what we hope is another exciting edition of TAKAii with concluding sections of some of the articles from the first edition, discourse on legal education in Nigeria, interviews, jokes, practice tips and interesting legal information for everyday living. We hope that with this edition you will learn a lot, laugh a little, and help us spread the word: TAKAii… that law can be fun!
